Every participant must choose, from the list of participants of the Lisboa-Dakar rally 2008, 10 drivers that meet the following criteria:
- 4 drivers from the car competition (you may only choose 2 drivers from one single car constructor and only once- e.g. if you choose 2 mitsubishi drivers, you can only select 1 Volkswagen driver and not 2, and vice-versa)
- 4 drivers from the motorbike competition (with a maximum of 3 KTM riders)
- 2 drivers from the trucks competition (only one driver per truck constructor)
- 1 of the 10 drivers must be selected as the team leader and will multiply his points by 1.5
